How Minecraft Java uses SRV
Minecraft first looks up the service record for the player address, then connects to the target hostname and port contained in that record.
- 01
Create the SRV owner _minecraft._tcp followed by the player-facing hostname.
- 02
Point it to a hostname with an A or AAAA record that resolves directly to your server's public IP address.
- 03
If your DNS provider offers HTTP proxying, keep the Minecraft target on “DNS only” unless you use a compatible TCP proxy product.
- 04
Wait for the configured TTL, then run the live checker again from this page.
